Do you bribe a child with candies when going to the dentist?

When I was still a child, my mother is pulling me to the dentist’s table. My milk tooth should be extracted since the permanent tooth is ready to come out. According to the dentist, the milk tooth should be extracted to prevent from having abnormal growth of the permanent tooth.
Besides my mother’s bribe of having a sweet ice cream, the dentist also bribes me to have some candies. It happens that my grandpa is the dentist. “Why I don’t want to have tooth extraction?” I am so scared of being injected with an old typed syringe. The old-typed syringe is like a gun that needed to be loaded with the anesthesia’s ampule.
“Any experience like this?”

All I can tell you is the Dentist whom I went to when I was small had grown men go out of his place with a very white face and more like running off.
He had a fish tank in htere a big one and lots of Magazines but when that dreaded buzzer went off everyone jumped including me as they called your name over the Speaker.
He was not friendly but he was good at his job.

@lovinangelsinstead21 Some dentists lack these skills. They lack tender loving care to their clients.

My mother never bribed me to the dentist because I used to pull it out myself

@manasamanu That's a bit painful. I hope the tooth is not deep.

@Shavkat I used to keep touching it and try to pull out slowly. Keep shaking it every time.

before, there was no local anesthesia, so we can feel the needle prick in our gums when we have our teeth extracted. now, there is the spray anesthesia so the gums will be numb and cannot feel the needle prick for the local anesthesia.
my son had his first tooth extraction, but i did not give him any token so he will agree on the tooth extraction. he did not even cry.

@ridingbet I agree. Well, we still need to have a consultation on that situation. A stand-by blood transfusion will be the possible thing to do.

@Shavkat now, my friend, i cannot have tooth extraction anymore. i might have prolonged bleeding tendencies because of Coumadin intake. i have to consult my cardiologist if ever i have a tooth extracted.

@diosabella I think most old people love to say, "ice cream after going to the dentist."

In fact usually I don't bride my child. I will not give him any gifts even if he has good scores in exam. I hope he shall regard it as a natural thing to try to study hard and get good scores. He shall just do it well without any prizes. Long time ago after my child had his tooth pulled out, I would buy him a little gift on behalf of the tooth fairy. It is a kind of encouragement. I have never told him that actually these gifts were from me
