ATM machines were dismantled and carried away; ATM cards were stuck in the slot due to someone putting something in it and the last but more dangerous was a sticker with telephone number on it that can detect your pin. Those are kind of crimes that have been identified by crime investigators who tell people to be careful.

Sadly this is the price we pay for the convenience. I propose going back to a more simple time where we all carry cash. Not a lot of it at one time but if we all stopped using debit and credit cards for everything then this would eliminate those sort of crimes from happening. If I know I am going to make a big purchase I plan for it and go get the money I need directly from my bank. This also helps you to stay in budget if the money is not always in your wallet ready to use.

Imagine the ATM machines loaded with huge cash. This has attracted criminal to do whatever they can to get away with it. The question is how can criminals use duplicate cards to rob us of our money using the pin they obtained from the ATM machines.

@yanzalong The answer to that one is kind of simple. An ATM is a computer, and computers are only as good as the person who makes them. Maybe a fingerprint should be required to use a debit card. Maybe there should be both a fingerprint and a pin. There are a variety of other options to keep the information safe. We just need computers that can do the work.

This has been like this for a long long time here. In fact they used to blow them up instead which was even worse and a good job no one was around whenever it happened.

In our country, the criminals dismantled the machine and carried it somewhere to be dumped. Although the cash was stolen, the bank didn't lose anything because all the cash was insured.
