How do you measure your own happiness? In Positive Psychology this can be measured through Subjective well-being. Well, subjective well-being is your evaluations of : 1. your life; and 2. your moods and emotions. How do you measure happiness in your own unique way? Do you follow certain standards or criteria?

No animal has human qualities. The squirrel is neither selfish or greedy but hungry.

People always want more because they are not contented with what they have. If one of their needs is satisfied, they will crave for another or for something new.

I believe that a person could only say that he is happy if he is contented with everything in his life. that's how I measure happiness. It depends on one's contentment in life.

Yeah, that's true. Each person has its own concept or idea on what contentment is.

@sputnik8 And contentment can only be attained if all of our needs are satisfied, right?

I don't look for happiness in the usual sense that it produces some joy. I do not have that in life. It is non existent and I have accepted this no problem. Happiness to me is having everything in my life in order and not left unfinished.

I don't think about my happiness 24/7. It's one of the top topics here on the site. No idea why people are so obsessed with it. Why and what for should I 'measure' my happiness? In case I found out that it was one notch below my last measurement, what should I do? End my life in misery? Or take a course in an ashram and let a guru tell me how to reach my former standard? Instead of thinking about it and giving unasked-for advice all the time people should just be it and go ion with their lives.

The only measure to the happiness is us ourselves. When we are satisfied and control all our emotions we feel the real happiness.

Maybe, I can measure happiness through comparing an extreme emotion to just the moderate ones.
