Yes its time for the conclusion. Till now I have told you about various dance forms of different regions of Karnataka.
Today I'll share you the list of dance forms which are common to most of the regions.
1. Hagalu veshagaararu - This is a group of itinerant actors in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh who specialise in unscripted miming; no stage or facility is used.
2. Goravara kunita - Goravara kunita is a dance worshipping Shiva which is popular in the Mysore and North Karnataka regions.
3. Nagamandala - This ritual dance is performed in south Karnataka to tranquilize the serpent spirit, and is an extravagant night-long affair.
4. Karaga - I have described it in my previous posts.
5. Gaarudi Gombe - Gaarudi Gombe is a folk dance in which dancers dress in suits made of bamboo sticks. Gaarudi-Gombe means "magical puppet" in Kannada.
And yet more dance forms like Joodu Haligi, Puppetry and Veeragase. These dance forms have made our culture rich and uphelds the traditions of their regions where they are performed.
