Good news for the drivers in the Metro Atlanta area. Both sides of Interstate 85 are open for travel on Saturday evening.
A homeless man Basil Eleby allegedly set a fire on March 30, 2017 that caused the bridge to fall down near Piedmont Road which closed the interstate in both directions.
Eleby on Friday asked the district attorney to drop the charges against him, but I doubt the district attorney honored his request to drop the arson charges against him.
Now that the Interstate 85 bridge is open once again, it will be easier for Braves fan to attend the baseball games at SunTrust Park in Cumberland neighborhood of Cobb County.
A special thank you should go to the construction crews at C W Matthews who worked around the clock to repair the damage to the interstate.

I know what you mean since witnesses said they saw him do it.
