Day 248 Proverbs 22:24 Proverbs 22:24 Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man thou shalt not go: 25 Lest thou learn his ways, and get a snare to thy soul. Everyone gets angry from time to time, but not everyone is angry all the time. If you are around a person who is angry all the time, you will find yourself acting like that person. You are often warned to keep away from people of bad character because their ways tend to rub off on you. It never seems to happen the other way around where your good tendencies wear off on someone with a bad character. Solomon warned everyone not to become friends with such people because their ways corrupt your soul. Jesus showed the difference between a good and evil person. Luke 6:45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks. You know an angry person, or a person of bad character as soon as he opens his mouth. Sometimes you don’t need to wait that long. His reputation will go ahead of him. He will also have friends of like character with him. Paul admonished not to have any corrupt communication come out of your mouths. Ephesians 4:29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. (KJV) If you tend to be angry all the time, there is hope for you. Ephesians 4:17 This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, 18 Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart: 19 Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. 20 But ye have not so learned Christ; 21 If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: 22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; 23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; 24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. (KJV) There is always hope. You can break the cycle of bad behavior, but it takes renewing your mind in Christ Jesus to do that. Do not go looking for people of bad character and expect you will be able to change them. Only the Holy Spirit can do that once you accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord. Let’s pray: Father, help me stay away from those of bad character so I do not become like them, and if I already have those tendencies, renew my mind so I might be more like Jesus Christ. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen. Copyright © 15 May 2017 by Valerie Routhieaux Image courtesy of Pixabay

"Birds of a feather flock together" - and a person can be judged by the friends he or she keeps.

Angry people often have negative thoughts and are negative about things in life. In you stay with those people you are bound to get affected to. I have been around such people unfortunately

I've been around them too. It's especially hard to stay away from them if they are members of your family.

I am able to identify these people more and more, and I do not want to be like them. That helps.
