Whooo hooo today I get the cast off my left leg (ankle)! The surgeon said I will get a boot, and I'm hoping its not as heavy as this cast. I won't be able to put any pressure on the leg (ankle) for another 6 weeks, Yikes. I never thought it would be so hard not to walk on this left leg. The night time is the worst, I automatically want to put both feet down and go to the bathroom....Lol Enjoy your day everyone!!!

Ouch it sounds like a bad break! How did you do it? I found the boot was a lot easier to deal with than the cast! By the end of my 5 weeks in a cast I was using plastic rulers to try and scratch the itch as it was driving me crazy! Not to mention trying to bath or shower without getting the cast wet! I hope your ankle heals soon!

The itch has been driving me crazy too.....Lol The swelling has gone down and my leg is its normal size, so I am able to scratch where it itch. I was hit by a car 3 weeks ago :-( I did a post about it.

@Blockparty49 Ah sorry I only joined last week that's why I've missed it! Getting hit by a car would be pretty scary I hope you can claim against them to cover time of work and the cost of recovery. Lol mine was still really swollen when they took the cast off! Probably as I'd hardly rested it I kept going out on crutches as I got bored in the house! The doc wanted to put it back in a cast so I begged them to put it in a boot instead! I hope you heal soon!

It takes a while to learn to resist that urge. I remember when I was bed-ridden in the hospital, and there'd be time when I'd "need to go" and--though I was wearing a diaper and could barely move--they practically had to 'tie me down' to keep me from jumping out of bed (and falling flat on my face!) But congratulations! Almost as 'freeing' as "getting your driver's license," isn't it?

Glad to hear - do be careful not to put any pressure on so it will heal as quickly as possible...
