More About Losing Money

Another time, when my husband was in the U.S. Air Force, I went to the PX (Post Exchange) on an Army Post to shop. I had to show my I.D. so I took my wallet out to find my I.D. card.
It wasn’t in my wallet, so I laid the wallet on the counter and looked in my purse and found my I.D. card and presented it to the cashier who wanted to see it.
Then, I proceeded into the PX and left my wallet laying on the counter. I had just cashed a fairly large check and the money was in my wallet.
I shopped for maybe a half hour or 45 minutes and when I went back to the cashier, lo and behold, there was my wallet still laying there on the counter with all the money in it.
Who knows how many people saw it as they came into the PX that day after I did? And no one touched it. Amazing!
Has anything like that ever happened to you?

I was young and dumb, newly married and not used to carrying a purse.
