Last Man Standing canceled

ABC has canceled the hit show Last Man Standing which to according to information I found was the second rated comedy behind Modern Family. The reason given was that all the comedies on Friday night were cancelled to be replaced by other types of shows. So why not cancelled a comedy on Wed. or Tues. and move Last Man Standing to one of those nights. There has been speculation that politics played a role in the cancellation since the star, Tim Allen, is conservative and makes jokes on the show about Democrats. But often another character will counter those jokes so the show is not overly bad in that area. Besides many shows for many years have been biased in favor of the left and Democrats for a very long time. It was the only show that I watched on ABC prime time this last season. So I guess there will be none this coming season.

There's always a chance Allen can shop around the show and Last Man Standing get picked up by a cable channel such as CMT.

I read online that the owners or production company or whatever, I think it is possibly Warner Brothers, is looking for another place to carry it. ABC not being the production was one of the reasons they gave for dropping it. I just hope that it is picked up but I want one of the other networks and not a cable network since I don't get those.

I love this show and I'm sad it got canceled and i feel the excuse doesn't work. Even if I didn't agree with what the main character said they had the liberal character who would respond so i thought it wasn't distasteful or anything.

He had voiced support for Trump during the election, and commented that conservatives were being persecuted in the press. He's actually right about conservatives being skewered. I think it also hurt that his comedy is a multi camera sitcom, while the others on the channel were mostly single camera. It didn't stand out with Dr.Ken, another multi camera sitcom. I think his jokes about Democrats fit well with his character, and I'm always sorry to see a family show go. I miss old school comedies like Tim Allen's old show, Home Improvement.

There is a petition going around, trying to get ABC to reconsider. So far, at least when I saw it yesterday, it had 400,000 signatures.

I enjoyed LMS's first season. I gave up on the show after the cast changes. Didn't like the new eldest daughter at all, and the grandson's father was far too annoying to put up with. Sorry, Tim Allen, but I'm not upset about your show being cancelled.
