You probably did this already, but just a note that if the furby sits around for a long time without anyone playing with it, the batteries need to be taken out because over time the batteries will split open and leak out battery acid. Of course, there is a chance that when you put new batteries back in and try to play with the furby, it will have a different voice and a new personality, and it will have forgotten how to speak human language.
The upside is that it might yell "Hey Gonzola!" again.

I have a furby. I've had it for a long time. I did play with it when they first came out but now it sits still in its original box.

I have two, one is still in the box. Gosh, I can't even remember what year I got it. I do know it was a long time ago.!!! lol I have a black one and white one is still in its box.

When Firby's firt came out, I got one and kept it in the box. And I got another one to play with.
I didn't see the hype about Furby. The following year, my kids wanted one and when they played and played with it...it got very annoying.
Maybe you should be grateful you didn't get a Furby. LOL ha ha

No I have not had a Furby. I thought they were basically extinct until I saw them in the aisles at the store this year. They are very cute.

I used to have a furby and I played with it ALL the time it was crazy. Eventually I got annoyed by it and later on I found it in my closet and it still worked! It started to scare me so I dropped it and then it wouldn't stop talking I really was freaked.

My sister had 3 or four of them (when she was an adult mind you, she was like 23 when she bought them) and she enjoyed them.. i couldn't stand them.. but did like to play around with hers and make them speak to each other, but I would always end up killing them somehow, and she hid them from me. (:
