After the family friendly movie "Guardians Of The Galaxy Volume 2" dominated the box office for the first two weeks, the Ridley Scott movie "Alien: Covenant" beat out the Disney movie in the weekend box office this weekend. It is usually the case where a new movie franchise that is known for sending chills down our spines will take first place in the box office when it is first released like in this case. The motion picture "Everything, Everything" landed in third place, the Amy Schumer-Goldie Hawn comedy "Snatched" ended in fourth place and "Diary Of A Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul" ended in fifth place. The belief is that having a new cast for the latest Dairy Of A Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul" doomed it to be a box office failure.

Not a surprise Alien was #1. An unnecessary movie made strictly to cash in on name value.

That is the problem with Hollywood these days. Recycled movies being sold to the public.

I saw it Friday and I wasn't too impressed. It was decent but it seemed to be lacking the action and suspense of previous Alien movies. I saw the end coming from a mile away. Now, Guardians of the Galaxy 2 I loved!
