Golden State Warriors general manager Bob Myers on Thursday has mentioned that his coach Steve Kerr will not be on the sidelines coaching his team when the National Basketball Association Finals begin on June 1, 2017. Interim coach Mike Brown is handling the coaching duties of the Warriors at this time. Brown gets advice from Kerr before and during the games from backstage which has been helpful to have the Warriors in the 2017 NBA Finals for a third straight season. Myers admits he is not sure if Kerr will be healthy enough to return to coach the team after he had surgery earlier this month to repair a spinal fluid leak in his back during the NBA Finals. Since Kerr and Myers are close friends, Myers does not want to make the decision to have Kerr walk away from coaching the team due to his back injury that has plagued him for the last two years.
