Oscar De La Hoya who is the president of his boxing promotion called Golden Boy Promotions is being lampooned by sports writers who as far that I know of have stepped inside a boxing ring like De La Hoya did for many years. What did Oscar do to endure the wrath of the sports reporters? De La Hoya has this belief that if ultimate fighter Conor McGregor steps into a boxing ring against former boxer Floyd "Money" Mayweather Junior, the fight will such a farce that boxing as a sport will have a black eye that they might never recover from. De La Hoya believes that if Mayweather vs McGregor does take place, not only will the promoters of the super fight and the fighters smile all the way to the bank, the fans will be shortchanged. Maybe De La Hoya knows the old saying "The truth hurts." that Mayweather is an excellent boxer according to the plebeians at ESPN but he is not a warrior inside a boxing ring. Remember this saying "A fool is born every hour." Maybe De La Hoya really cares for the sport that made him famous and rich.

Boxing is all about the money. It's a joke which is ultimate fighting and mixed took off in popularity over traditional boxing.
