These posts and some answers have unchained the nasty part of me. I´m sorry.
I haven´t told you that when the robbers treated me with a familiar language I told them that they could steal it all, but that they had to treat me with respect as I could be their grandmother. And they changed their tone.
I believe in respect. And in this international site we have to be extra careful as it is an international site where people from many cultures are writing.
Where I live, people don´t have snakes as pets as in other places. But we eat cows, horses, rabbits, Guinea Pigs and a variety of birds. We don´t eat deer as we don´t have them.
Is it bad? Immoral? Nasty? Or is it just different? When the aztecs arrived in what is now Mexico City, they only had snakes as proteins. And in New Orleans, the typical Jambalaya did not have chicken but alligators caught in the bayou. Protein again.
Let us make this site a place of respect. Please!!

Easily understood by me.
I am not going around this site condemning others for what their customs are in their country period.
As if they would listen to me anyway..most people if you try to infringe on their custom, naturally get their back up against you and will calmly tell you to go to Hades.

Of course! What right have I to go against another religion or costum? In this site there are often posts aboyt what is better, arranged marriages or the other kind. An arranged marriage is not done in my country. So, how could I answer to that? There are many examples.

While i agree that respect is needed here, i also believe in matter of opinion. Not everyone is going to like the taste of alligator, birds, snake etc.

I agree. Once I was served some australian meat as a delicatessen and I thought it was awful. It could be ostrich or something like that.

@CoralLevang There is a restaurant here that has all kinds of birds. I´ll take you when you come. It is a bit expensive, but it is worth it.

I wholly agree with that. We must respect all cultures and religions. And if we cannot do so, we must go elsewhere.

We don't eat anything you mentioned but get plenty of protein from our vegetables. Many are not even aware that plants contain vegetables.
Like you, we eat the way we eat because THAT IS THE WAY WE EAT! Some are very critical of our choices, but we don't care.
Glad the robbers did not harm you, but it is sad that they did what they did @marguicha

I agree with April. As i respect people but have my own opinion.. and will not keep quiet if i disagree with something or if something is nasty to me. Which eating guinea pigs, rabbits and birds are to me. Along with alligator.

I agree that somethings are nasty to other people. For me, nasty words are nasty. And as words are different than food, I can stop talking to someone that thinks I´m nasty
