So much for loving your neighbor these days. The Wonder Woman movie that stars Israeli actress Gal Gadot has been banned in Lebanon since Ms. Gadot was born in Israel. The Lebanese government consider the Israelis their enemy and they see Gadot who served two years in the Israeli military for two years as their enemy. The catch is that Gadot who was in the movie "Batman vs Superman: Dawn Of Justice" did have that movie shown in theaters in Lebanon. The other Arab nations will screen the Wonder Woman movie according to managing director of the distributor Tony Chacra of Joseph Chacra And Sons which made him very angry that the Lebanese General Security directorate decided to ban the movie over a petty issue like the nationality of Ms. Gadot. I could see Gadot saying "This never happened to that American actress who played the role of television." The line is a parody of the James Bond movie "In Her Majesty's Secret Service" that starred George Lazenby as James Bond in 1969.

Whatever one thinks they have the right to show or not show what they want in their own country. It's only Hollywood that cares because they might lose two cents at the box office.

I agree with you on this matter. All this negative publicity will make the movie a hit when it comes out on Friday.

Sometimes Lebanon acts like a real country and then it goes and throws a tantrum like this to remind us it is still just a small piece of land pretending to be a country.

Imagine if everything was banned b/c someone did not approve of where they were born, the language they spoke, etc.

That is true. It is not Gal's fault she was born in Israel and is a patriot.

Such things are happening everywhere in the world. The religion and national issues are dominating everywhere. This is inevitable though we don't like them.

That is what bothers me. If the people do not like the movie, do not go see it. But do not enforce your views on the majority of the people in Lebanon who like Gal Gadot.

That so extreme. What does a movie/film to do with one's religion? I can't see any logic in it.

That is what I am saying is that some cretins just do not have better things to do than complain about the nationally of an actress from a neighboring country that is at odds with them.
