Coming in at #6 in my Favorite Videos that aren't "Thriller" series is a band making their second appearance in one of my music countdowns: the Beastie Boys, with their Beavis and Butt-Head approved video, "Sabotage." The video for the Beastie Boys' 1994 single, "Sabotage," was directed by Spike Jonez. The clip honors television's 1970's cop action/drama shows. The Beastie's, in full 70's clothing, hairstyles, and, especially, mustaches, play fictional actors playing cops in a TV show called "Sabotage." Much like the music (which the Beastie Boys played themselves,) the video (the "show's" opening credits) is energetic, with lots of hot cop action. (How much hot cop action was too much hot cop action? A knife fight, a man falling from a bridge, and a man being thrown from a moving vehicle were all cut from the video.) "Sabotage" was nominated in five categories at the 1994 MTV Music Video Awards, but came away with nary a win. The video did, however, receive a lot of airplay on MTV, helping to propel the single to #18 on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart. And, as I mentioned, Beavis and Butt-Head thought it was cool. Enough said. (Info verified by Wikipedia)

Where's Howard Duff???? (That red light was from the opening of N.Y.P.D. which starred Duff...and it's scary that I know that!) Funny video.

I like the cheesy 70's mustaches best.

If Beavis and Butt-head liked them, then I do also. They always knew great music. I really like when they watched a song they did not like. That is when they were really funny.

They were at their best when they were busting on something.

The song makes you want to stand up and fight for your right to party and hang out with that funky monkey. Would you believe this site forbids saying the name of that song?

I think I've tried to use it before and it wouldn't let me.
