Grand Oaks Drive - Yesterday, my buddy Rod gave me the complicated little digital camera that he no longer cared to use. Today I took that little camera for a scooter ride along the trails of our Grand Oaks neighborhood - down toward where someone is busy building new houses and chopping down some of the forest trees as they build. At the intersection of Grand Oaks Drive and a side street strangely named "Limber Pines," I decided to let that little camera have some fun collecting enough images to be used to produce a great big panoramic view of the street as it goes by that intersection. The resulting panorama, were it to be printed out in one piece, would be a photo print 9 feet long and 2 feet wide. The image had to be greatly reduced in size in order to fit here on MyLot, I brought it down in size to what would be a printout 23 inches long by 4 inches wide. (Good enough for government work, right? ) I had not yet learned how to cause the camera's viewing screen to show up brighter outside in the daylight, so I guess that I made some lucky guesses as to overlapping the individual image frames that went into making up the "stitched" image panorama. I am beginning to think that I might someday learn how to use this marvelous little digital camera, Maybe so. Image: Grand Oaks Drive at the Limber Pines intersection - Gus Kilthau

@TiarasOceanView - I have another pano pic here that measures five feet by four feet in size. It is of an unripe fig and part of its fig tree. Same technique for landscapes, room interiors, etc. You all are going to have fun with pano stuff. -Gus-

the picture is really beautiful. You captured it nicely. Only a few can do it with Digital.

@shivamani10 - The computer program-writing people have made it easy for us all to produce good panorama pix using our digital cameras (big, little, plain, or fancy kinds of digital cameras). I will come back here some time later to write out a 1-2-3 kind of lesson that anyone can follow - including where to get the free software. -Gus-

You did great for a first timer. I love the photo. I have been using digital cameras for awhile but still haven't got the knack of making a panorama. Great job
