Burglars in the house: interesting answers.

When I wrote here about the robbery in my house, I received many answers. Probably I haven´t received so many in my whole time here.
They went from getting a gun to moving or placing alarms everywhere.
Some of my friends and family reacted in the same way too.
But, if I have lived this way for over 20 years here, should I now live shut in a closed house full of iron, cameras, lights and alarms that go on if a bird flies cutting the ray?
Should I move from this house that my late husband made specially for me, with the main bedroom in the first floor as I dread earthquakes?
Should I buy a gun and (if I´m lucky?) kill someone who is trespassing?
Material things can be bought again. And those with sentimental value belong to our memories. I can shut my eyes and see all the small jewels my husband gave me.
What are your thoughts on this? What would you do?

@marguicha You are right. It is better to have a dog and at least the dog will make the bad guys scared.

I will lock my house. But I will not get an alarm system. It is too expensive.

@Courtlynn True. But each of us has a different way of understanding safety.

No , you should not move from the house. There are other things ,on which you can work for precautions

you are allowing them to take from you and they will NOT stop till you stand up for yourself. Sure its not easy facing people that are intimidation you but once you do , things will be better and you won`t live in YOUR HOUSE in fear. You have to protect your self!
What is next? when there is nothing to take, they will rape you. Wasp Spray is a good weapon to keep bedside. aim for their face, then you can get away while they cannot see.

These burglars were not aggressive. I don´t think I´d stop them with a spray. I will not live in fear.

@josie_ I have heard that if I´m the only one who feeds her (or Leticia and I) she won´t accept food from anyone.

@marguicha _Good idea. I have pet dogs who also moonlight as night watchdog. Problem is they're so friendly they'll probably slobber all over the thief.
