They're Serious!

This morning I saw a news headline that made me feel that the Islamic leadership in England is getting serious about distancing Muslims from terrorists who claim to be Muslims. Multiple news reports said that over 130 imams -- Muslim "clergy," for lack of a better term -- are steadfastly refusing to perform funeral services and prayers for the three terrorists responsible for Saturday night's terrorist attack in London. I'm going to plead ignorant, so if I say something wrong here, forgive me because I just don't know. However, based on other religions in the world, a "proper burial" is essential. (Again, I'm basing this statement on things such as the "funeral mass" in Catholicism, and how disheartening it is to be refused a "Christian burial," especially in older times.) I don't know if it's going to help stem the tide of people "willing to die while killing infidels," but maybe -- just maybe -- if they realize they'll be denied the importance of the "proper" religious rites it'll make them think twice. I haven't read abut this yet, but I'm glad that Islamic Clergy is standing up against the terrorists, no matter how they do it.

I'm in agreement with you. I think this is a very important thing to do, not to honor the attackers as "martyrs" when all they are is murderers.

I really juat think that all this senseless violence should just stop. Something has to be done about the terrorists because too many innocent people are dying because of a hateful belief. It's very sad.
