Ilongot Violin of Ilongot Tribes

For some of us, we tend to explore the place by visiting a museum. It is the best place to understand the culture or practices of the local people. In my country, there are some indigenous musical instruments. While going around BenCab Museum in Benguet, I had seen this “Ilongot” violin. I find it new to know that this musical instrument is used by “Ilongot” tribes in Nueva Ecija and Nueva Vizcaya. “Do you have a unique musical instrument like this?” "Do you like visiting a museum?" Here are of all things are Sicilian Bagpipes. Usually people associate the bagpipes with Scotland or Ireland but as well Sicily had them too. I have not seen them in a museum, however my Nana had told me of them:

I enjoy visiting museums and learning new things. I find it easier to go for short visits each time as there's always far too much to see. Thanks for sharing this violin.

We have certain musical instruments which were brought to my country by the slaves. People still use them nowadays to make music

@Nawsheen That's nice. The origin of the musical instruments is really coming from across Africa.

That is a lovely piece. We always enjoy visiting museums all over the world when we travel, and here at home. We don't collect antique musical instruments, but do collect antiques.

@BettyB I think the Ilongot Tribes don't use it anymore. But they have a new version of it. The violin's strings are made of woman's hair. Sounds strange but it does. I have a link for you to hear. It is used by Bungkalot tribes.
tunay na tunog ng musikang Bugkalot. Ito ang tinatawag na Gisada sa aming tribo at sa English naman ito ay ang tinatawag na Violin. Gawa ito sa kahoy na inuk...

First time I've seen a violin like that and no, I do not own one. Visiting museums is a favorite past time for me. Too bad that the entrance fees to museums cost an arm and a leg sometimes.

Yea, I like museums sometimes. I don't go to other cities though. I only have access to the local Dallas Museums and the one I like to go to is at Fair Park, called The Museum of Natural History. They have dinosaur bones there. That instrument looks very old. Unusual too.
