Anyone remember that song by the same title that used to be popular? I thought of it the other night when I found out a place in my city offers free Narcan training. Never heard of Narcan? It's a medication that reverses the effects of a heroin or other opioid overdose. There is an epidemic in my city and with working in the mental health field, my friends and I have been wanting to get trained and get access to some.
I was very surprised how simple it is to use and how straight forward the process of providing first aid to someone who has overdosed is. I'm glad I got the chance to learn what to do if I need to help someone. We were also given some Narcan if we ever have a situation where we need to use it.

I agree. Right now it's prescription only and quite expensive. My friends and I were very lucky to get ahold of some.
