Post-Op Went Well

I had my post-op appointment today and everything seems to be going well. My incisions are healing up nicely, although I'm still rather sore around my bellybutton and my left groin area. It turns out I had an inguinal hernia in addition to the femoral hernia, so the surgeon fixed that as well. I am grateful to have those fixed and hope they never come back. I need to try to lose some more weight to prevent them from reoccurring. As of right now I don't have to see that surgeon again unless any complications pop up or if the hernias end up coming back (or I develop a new one.) I'm to take it easy and avoid anything strenuous for the next six weeks. So, I guess it will be more of hanging out on the couch for a while. It still hurts to sit upright for extended periods, but every day it's getting better. Maybe one of these days I'll be able to wear my jeans for the entire day. For now I'll just wear them on the rare occasion I have to go out and stick to my PJs while at home.

I don't currently have the next surgery scheduled -- I still need to go back to that specialist and tell him that I want to have the surgery to treat my endometriosis. I have been putting it off because right now I hate the idea of another surgery. But, it needs to be done soon. And then I have a vein ablation coming up in August, which I am not looking forward to.

@TiarasOceanView Yes, and I still am trying to get a diagnosis for why I've been sick and run down and having chronic pain this past year. Two doctors suggested fibromyalgia or chronic fatigue syndrome, but didn't officially diagnose it. It's been exhausting running around to all these doctor appointments.

Me too. I'm so relieved to have this issue taken care of. Hopefully there will be no further issues with it from here on out.

Thank you. I've been trying to take it easy. I told my boyfriend he will have to do all the strenuous stuff for a bit longer.

No further follow ups are needed with this doctor, unless any issues arise. I will probably be having surgery sometime soon to treat a separate issue, but I haven't discussed it with that specialist yet. I need to get that ball rolling but I figured I'll wait until I'm healed from this surgery first.
