Food is a personal choice

Hello friends,
I think all of us have the freedom to choose what we want to eat. If any one restricts us then it will be difficult for us.
It has been long time some agitations are going on in our country regarding the food. Whether it is, non-vegetarian or vegetarian, it is the personal choice of any one.
What do you think; restricting someone on eating food is good?

I agree with you that food is personal choice and we should choose wisely.

@Sreekala yes I am aware about it, and this fight is going on for months now, and my comment has a big meaning inside.

That is so bad about the food battle right now in India.
I hope it will come to a good end.
Yes I think it is crazy to restrict a persons freedom to eat what they like.
I once suffered this with a crazy person doing that to me.

Food restriction depends on who asked/tell us to stop or avoid certain foods.
Taking myself as an example, my doctor's advised is to take less spicy foods (though I am not fond of it) and dairy products.
So, for me it wasn't that hard to avoid the spicy foods , but for foods with dairy products (shesssshh) ice cream, cakes, chocolates - I would die

They try to influence us here to eat this that and the other a lot of times but I never see them apply the same restrictions to themselves.

@lovinangelsinstead21 Yes dear, same way some prefer to eat their favourite food, that can't be restricted by others on any political point of view.

No they cannot force you.
Its the last kind of freedom they could try to take from us heaven forbid that they try that one out on us.
We have a right to eat what we want and healthy within reason there is nothing wrong with that at all.

The only thing I hate about my choices is that most of them are not healthy. But I'm bouncing back and had some lettuce and dinner of veggie soup.

One can talk about not having or having some kind of food. Yet agitation and violence in the name of food is so so bad.

Yes it's bad especially food restriction. Everyone has their lifestyle of eating. It hurts their sentiments.

there ia a law about to be passed here in my country about that promotion of food chains of having unlimited rice or the unlirice. although this eating more rice is good, we have to taken into consideration about the possible illnesses if he consume too much carbohydrates; diabetes is one, so i go for the approval of the law.
freedom to choose the food is good, as long as we don't abuse the excess foods, for heal;th reasons of course.

I got your point and I agree with you. Here the situation is different. The restrictions come on eating beef , which is purely for political advantages. That is the sad part. On Heath part, people must be concerned on their own health and decide what to eat and what to avoid.

Well the situation that has turned out is not about eating meat but it is about meat of a particular animal, that has got merged with religious and political issues of the country.
This move had been welcomed by lot of people and also lot of people have condemned it.
Whenever there are religious sentiments attached to, it becomes a tricky situation.
As a country, people need to decide whether they give priority to freedom to eat or religious sentiments.
The government should let people decide what is right for them.
Ultimately, being such a diverse country, we wont be able to come to a general conclusion for the entire country.
May be each state can pass law for itself based on its eating culture.

There some issues going on in our country on eating meat. Some people try to make it a political issues so it got worse. I agree non-veg is not meant for human beings, but those who are used with it definitely use the same whether it is beef or chicken.

@Kandae11 still if someone is not willing to eat bad things less, we still can't force them.

Our parents actually let us eat more on the vegetable that those of frozen foods and I think it is good that they don't let us choose what we want but they insist what they think is good for us. Of course they let us choose some other foods but we make sure that it is not like those of junk foods.
