Here we are at #4 in my Favorite "#" Songs series, being songs with a number (not spelled out) in the title. @FourWalls is doing a numbers countdown as well, so be sure to check hers out as well, because she's coming up with some good ones. The fourth slot belongs to "2 + 2 = 5" by Radiohead. "2 + 2 = 5" is the leadoff track from their 2003 album, Hail to the Thief, and was the final single from that album. Primarily a nod to George Orwell's novel, 1984, the tune also references the band's dissatisfaction with George W. Bush's victory over Al Gore in the 2000 Presidential election. I don't see evidence that the song was released as a single in the United States, but it did fairly well for itself, reaching #2 in Canada, #15 in the UK, and #12 in Italy. Frankly, it rocks, and was a highlight when I saw them. It's hard to fathom, as @JohnRoberts has pointed out, that Radiohead has been together for 32 years now, especially, as @FourWalls has brought up, with the original lineup. That's nearly unheard of for a band with such longevity. Believe me when I say, we are better off for it. (Info verified by Wikipedia)

And Radiohead isn't in the running for R&R HOF.

Such a shame. They should be in, just like the Moody Blues. Too busy putting in Journey and Hall and Oates.

Yeah, that's a mellow song. I have said this before but I'll repeat it: I think a band that stays together this long leaves a long legacy for their fans. And yes, they should be in the Hall of Fame....but what do we know...(yes, that's sarcasm, thank you.)

@teamfreak16 -- they'll probably argue that they nominated the Smiths and nothing happened, so why bother.

@FourWalls - Granted, I think they were great, but they were only together five years. If they get in, it will be mostly for their influence.

I wonder when they are going to get around to bands such as Radiohead, Depeche Mode, The Cure, all of whom should be in, as far as I'm concerned.
