We have named the baby birds....and yep they are nerdy names.

I think I told you that the mockingbird who lost her previous litter (is that the right word for a group of baby birds?) had made another nest. Well her eggs hatched a couple days ago and there are four chirping baby birdies.
We have named them Luke, Leia, Han and Chewie (after Chewbacca). The other half came in the first night he heard them chirping and told me to name them. So I did. I really wanna take a picture but I don't wanna upset the babies in their nest or upset momma bird. But maybe I will get some when they start venturing out of the nest.

I don't even know how long it takes for birds to be able to fly? A couple weeks? A month. Maybe @JolietJake would know, he seems to be in tune with nature.
They are pretty cute right now and don't even have feathers yet.

Would it be nestlings? Fledglings when they're out of the nest, ready to learn to fly?
I worry about humans and wild animals getting friendly because all humans aren't friendly and most animals can't tell the friendly humans from the ones who want to kill them, for sport or otherwise.
But it truly is interesting, educational and fun to watch them develop
