The local home improvement centers in Big 'D' , Dallas, TX, offer some variety of knee pads for doing the kind of labor that is often hard on the knees like laying linoleum or carpet laying. This is true with the Decorators Union people who labor day in and day out to make it fun for visitors to events at the State Fair and the Convention Centers for up coming events. We have a good friend who has recently had problems with his knees as he lays down fresh carpet and sometimes this lasts for many hours and it is labor intensive to say the least, very hard on the knees. So, I looked around at a local retail home improvement store here in Dallas, TX to pick out a nice pair of knee pads to give to our friend, who recently did us a favor by changing the oil on our Caddy. We wanted Penzoil not SHOP GRADE motor oil from a garage somewhere by a local mechanic, but rather, the oil I prefer which is specially formulated for high mileage vehicles like our Seville. They had some very cheap knee pads, looking like they were made of foam rubber or the stuff they make coffee cups out of. Not a good quality but also higher end ones that are gels and have sturdy straps that hold tight to the knee, not Velcro, which tends to wear out over time. I only hope the ones I picked out for him today are acceptable for him to use. I will have to wait until tomorrow to see if he tries them out and hopefully likes them. They were approx. 25 dollars a pair. The ones for about 70 dollars might have been a bit better but the price range was beyond my reach. Often getting on your knees to do even simple chores like digging in the flower beds, can do serious painful hurt to your knees. I know. I have experienced it first hand.
