I am not one for gambling but we occasionally go to a casino whenever we visit my boyfriend's relatives in the big city. It's something to do plus we get free drinks . If ever he gambles, he just plays blackjack and put in no more than $40 on a $5 table. I woullad just look around and watch and don't play because it just does not interest me. Well last week, we were at that casino killing time until we can visit his aunt in the hospital. I got bored looking around so I decided to play the slots. I put in $20 and I was losing. I am not sure how or why as I don't really know how it's played - I just keep pressing the buttons. Then I started hitting the jackpot! I walked away with $265! I showed my winning to the boyfriend and he made me sit with him on the table and play. I never played it before and he said something about beginner's luck. My first $5 chip courtesy of the bf was lost. He placed another chip for me and I started winning. I walked away from the table with $107.50! I was very happy with my winnings, and lunch and dinner was on me. It was fun and I can see how it can be very addicting with all the lights and sounds. Thank goodness gambling really isn't my thing. Now if my luck will just extend to the powerball...

Right? I think when one becomes too greedy then that's what gets them in trouble. Imagine how I would feel if I kept going and ended up losing all the money I've won.

That is awesome...congratulations on your beginner's luck! It may never happen again. That is how people get hooked on it.

Some would get quite dizzy , push their luck, and end up losing everything.

That's what I was afraid of and so I just cashed out and took the money. Of course for real gamblers it's not much but for me I'm already a big winner!
