Older Discussions Getting Comments

Since i've been a member off and on for 7 years, naturally, i've posted quite a few discussions and what is surprising to me is, others have been commenting on posts of mine that are well over 5 years old, making me wish i could resurrect some of them, just to see the responses i would receive.
but, sadly i learned from the admin that this would be ''frowned on''even though we still get paid, no matter what post is commented on.
my question is, do your older posts still receive lots of comments? and do you ever wish they could be re-posted ?

This is news to me. I always assumed you could re-post a discussion if you deleted the original discussion first.

i thought we could as well and I was seriously thinking about resurrecting some of my discussions and wanted to make sure it was OK so i asked the admin and here is the message i received
'' Although there is nothing in the guidelines specifically prohibiting it, it is something I would frown upon. You do still earn when older posts are commented on though, if that is of any consolation''.

Once in a while an older post gets some comments but in my case it is very rare.
