long title of post: Complete System Scan then Shutdown ... Norton Security
Norton Complete System Scan and Shutdown at end of day ... No messages the next day after system reboots.
I often set my Norton Security to so a complete computer system shutdown after a complete system scan.
When I boot up the next day there are no messages from Norton indicating it detected a virus or trojan or malware after it finished scanning the system the night before, but I often wonder, should I check my Scan results in History or leave it be?
Often I have been at my computer while doing a complete system scan. When I do get a clean report, all systems GREEN, I am okay with that. No need to actually read the History report in Norton scan results from RECENT.
But then, once in a BLUE MOON, there have been times when Norton DID FIND a tracking cookie but removed it as a standard protocol. Then there are times when a real THREAT has been found by Norton Security Complete System Scan. This is usually taken care of AUTOMATICALLY.
The fact is, there are reasons to WANT TO KNOW about FOUND VIRUSES and TROJANS and MALWARE.
If a virus is found you can find out more about it's location, as to where in your system it was located. It may be part of a recent application download that you trusted so if you are able to determine by searching the location of a found virus that has been placed in quarantine, you probably will notice that Norton removed that entire program or ask you to remove it as SUSPICIOUS. Running a second type of test after all that is essential to clean out your system's REGISTRY.
I have my Norton Security updated twice daily by me, and set it to do QUICK SCANS throughout the day in the background.
So, why would I want to know for sure when I boot up in the morning, even if the likelihood of a detection from the previous scan is practically ZERO?
Because if the system had been interrupted, (by such as Windows Automatic Update processes or other updates that are done automatically by programs like Adobe Flash Player or JAVA updates or third party updates set on auto update), the complete system scan may or may not have had the chance to finish if a reboot was automatic when Windows Update process did an override of the system processes in order to finish up it's Auto Updates.
So, to find out if your system is free of a virus or other bad stuff, click on the link below and it will explain fully what you can do to check your recent scan history in Norton to be satisfied with your latest scan results.
The more you know about your computer's security and your Norton Security the better you will feel when you finally conclude that all systems are in fact GREEN.
To CLEAN OUT THE SYSTEM REGISTRY
Run another Norton Product, called - Norton Utilities, and navigate to where it says PERFORMANCE or SEARCH system REGISTRY FOR ERRORS. This program is very good at what it does to remove registry entries that are no longer being used that are left over from a recent uninstall of unwanted software programs that have been recently removed but left small traces behind that should be cleaned.
This is done in a way that does not harm your computer, and in fact, when such a registry fix takes place your system will perform at maximum speed and accuracy. You have the option to COMPACT THE Registry to optimize system speed and performance using Norton Utilities extra software in it's program list of options.
Need to know the risks that Norton fixed for you? You can find them after the scan completes in the Results Summary window.

I used 360 Total Security for my laptop's security and I guess it just okay because until now my computer still working. Awhile ago I run the clean up driver.

You ran a FILE CLEANUP on your hard drive? If so that is great. Good for you to keep your system running smooth.
