I was once told I am TOO WORDY.

I shared a short story with a friend who was taking literary courses in college who felt that he had the authority to criticize and came up with an expression of being TOO WORDY .
Like being called LONG WINDED, too complicated, drawn out, monotonous, etc.
I felt all kinds of emotions with that one.
I have to say he may have been honest and true with me but it was painful to take.
Now, have you ever tried to write something and later try to edit it so that it took up less space and had fewer pages?
Often I have trouble with my titles. There are ways for me to shorten a title in a discussion but doing so would likely be misleading or too vague to the reader before their interest in my post was enough to bother reading it.
So I guess I can do like they say do on Twitter, keep the characters at a minimum.
So that said, I could use more acronyms, abbreviated words, shorter sentences or even limit my titles to just under 6 words, right?
Google search engines seem to be more advanced today then in early times.
The search engine, BING and WEBCRAWLER also are going to use BOTS to find your articles based on the simple al - gore - rythms of the current era.

Writing a 'short story' while being 'too wordy' at the same time is.... quite dangerous! When I used to write, always tried to make it as long as I could. The end result was that I never finished such manuscripts and those were lost in transitions (we used to have many).
While keeping the titles short sounds like a good idea, I won't suggest acronyms and all.

Interesting link but as I read I thought this is too much information. I guess writing is just fun for me, I don't intend to make money off it since i make a lot of money off my art..I will admit I spend 90% more time on my art than I do here..I'm always too wordy, just don't listen when told that, have some fun!

The two things I have most trouble with are thinking up catchy titles and making up tags.

After reading Hemingway's admonition to write short sentences, I try to be more concise in my use of words. While there is a need to flesh out details, I always assume my readers are "smarter than a fifth grader". I find writing poetry helps create a mindset for cutting out unnecessary words when writing articles. Thank you for the interesting link. Bookmark it for further study.
