Former Cincinnati Reds outfielder and first baseman Pete Rose who goes by the nickname Charlie Hustle had a statue of himself unveiled on Saturday outside of the Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati Ohio.
What makes me laugh is that the media still hates Pete for his attitude of telling it like it is to sports reporters how he felt being asked questions that he found offensive sometimes.
Rose has been banned for being inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall Of Fame after an investigation discovered back in 1989 that Pete made the unpardonable sin of gambling on baseball games. Rose was banned for life by officials of Major League Baseball.
However Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred could down the line reinstate Pete into the good graces of being eligible to enter the Hall Of Fame in the future.
My feeling is that will happen after Rose has passed away since his relationship with the media was not always a bed of roses.

It's so absurd he is not in the Hall of Fame. The hits are genuine and he was no roid user. There are others in the HOF with dubious behavior.

Very true. Pete was not an angel with the media but he played his best on the baseball field at all times.

No matter what the person is like I think it is wonderful that sportists get honored with statues.
