I remember the hoopla when the motion picture "National Lampoon's Animal House" was released in theaters in the summer of 1978.
Stephen Furst who played the character of Kent "Flounder" Dorfman who was the younger brother who attended Faber College, Stephen Furst passed away at age 63 in Moorpark California due to diabetes on Saturday.
It is a shame that the entertainment world has lost in the past two weeks Batman actor Adam West, Rocky and Karate Kid director John Avildsen and now Stephen Furst.
Furst is remembered for the scene in the adult comedy when he fired a pistol into the air on order of his frat brothers Bluto (John Belushi RIP) and D Day (Bruce McGill) on the horse of Doug Neidermeyer (Mark Metcalf) to "get even with Niedermeyer" for punishing Flounder for not wearing his uniform properly during a military inspection.
In the movie, the horse was so scared he whinnied and then fell down to the ground dead of a heart attack.
Furst will be missed by fans of his shows beyond words.

"Son, fat, drunk, and stupid is no way to go through life."
