Day 284
Proverbs 27:15
Proverbs 27:15 A continual dropping in a very rainy day and a contentious woman are alike.
16 Whosoever hides her hides the wind, and the ointment of his right hand, which bewrays itself.
They’re called nags, harpies, shrews. No matter what you call them, women who constantly scold and nag are impossible to live with. Nothing is every right with them. They find fault with everything a person does, no matter if that person is a member of her family or not. She cannot be hidden any more than the wind can be hidden.
I imagine Solomon would be familiar with that type of woman. With a thousand women as concubines or wives, no doubt there would be some shrewish women among them.
According to Strong’s Concordance bewray means: a primitive root (rather identical with 7122 through the idea of accosting a person met); to call out to (i.e. properly, address by name, but used in a wide variety of applications):--bewray (self), that are bidden, call (for, forth, self, upon), cry (unto), (be) famous, guest, invite, mention, (give) name, preach, (make) proclaim(- ation), pronounce, publish, read, renowned, say.
With what bewray means, then, a shrewish woman is always calling attention to herself, making proclamations, always has something to say.
As Christians, you are admonished to be a keeper of the home and take care of your children, not to be busybodies, running around from house to house. Though Paul spoke to Timothy regarding the position of widows in the church, it is an admonishment to everyone that women are to mind their own business and not anyone else’s.
1 Timothy 5:13 And withal they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not. (KJV)
You can’t harness the wind. You can’t stop a nagging woman, but you can stay away from both by keeping to yourself.
Let’s pray: Father, help me be a person of good reputation, minding my own business and not someone else’s. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.

Yes, there are a lot who can't mind there own business... as if their own problem wasn't enough.

So true. I don't know if I've done that verse yet as I make my way through Proverbs.
