Should I make the page?

I have gone back and forward on making a Facebook page for my photography. I love taking photos and sharing them with people but I would like to branch out and try to make some more money off of it. Several of my friends have made Like pages on Facebook for their photography and it somewhat works for them.
The more successful photography pages/businesses are of course doing really well and adding their new photos regularly but the other ones don't. I know Megan has got a few hits off people wanting photos but most of them were just family friends who knew they wouldn't have to pay a ton for photos. It is the same way with Kayla's page. She only has photos posted of family friends that wanted photos done. I mean getting paid to take them whether it is just a family friend or not is still getting paid. We don't have many family friends so I don't think I'll have much luck as they did with taking family friend photos.
My biggest concern is that my photos aren't good enough and no one will like my page or see it. Of course, close friends and family would like it but I feel like they are just obligated to like it.
I have thought about making one before many times but I am just very self-conscious about doing it.

There is also Twitter to showcase and Instagram which is lovely for photos..not sure about how to market photos either..it is so competitive too I know what you mean Casey. Well, it would not hurt to do a page or two somewhere..wish I had better ideas.

I don't use Twitter or Instagram. I was posting on Instagram but it is still just friends and family on there so it wouldn't help much for others seeing them.

put'em out 't places like fine arts of america 'r e'en zazzle. such's free to yerself, y'ave the opportunity to see 'what's out there' 'n meet like-minded folks. i don't believe facebook'd be very productive 'ntil ya made a name fer yerself elsewhere.

I think it would be a good way to promote yourself and your work. I looked into some of the apps that allow you to sell pics supposedly on your smartphone..none of them had good reviews. People were saying things like I submitted a 1,000 pics and they were all rejected.

LOL . . Obligated to like it! I could never forget what my late mother said to me when I was 7 years old. . . "Julito, you are the most good-looking kid in our town! You look like your papa!" I looked at my father. "But, mama, father is ugly!" Kids don't lie, you know.

Kids don't' lie but mothers, fathers, siblings, and best friends do if they aren't crappy. No one wants to intentionally hurt their friends or families feelings. Also just because you found him to be ugly doesn't mean she did. We all have different taste when it comes to partners.

I don't think you have anything to lose by making a Facebook page. I think it could help reach a broader audience. Whichever decision you choose, good luck with it!
