Currently it is 6.40pm in Malaysia. We are at the foodcourt of a well known shopping mall. Around me, the whole foodcourt is packed with muslims who are waiting to open fasting at around 7pm. The month of Ramadan where the muslims started to fast is from May to June this year. They fast from morning to evening, 12 hours daily for 30 days. Around 4.30pm, I could see a few tables of Muslim people sitting around waiting for the time to past. Some of them were found slumping over the table, sleeping due to weakness or tiredness. By 5.30pm, more Muslims are booking the seats. Some of them started to buy food at 6.30pm but they are not allowed to eat until the someone announce the open fast over the reception counter. Honestly, I noticed that they eat more than regular days.

I respect their self control! It's not easy to fast for so many days!

yes, they could fast for centuries, amazing isn''t it? I think it is their self reliance, confidence and beliefs. Are there any muslims in India?

I had seen this practice before. I admire the local people in doing it.

@peachpurple My country has different religions. But then, Roman Catholic is quite more than the others.

@Lupita234 I agree. We just need to respect the doctrines of religions.

yah, amazing isn't it? They could fast from morning till evening without water and food. However, those who are ill, elderly and having mensus are not allowed to fast because considered "dirty" , something like that. I thought philippines are catholic believers, aren't they?

Yes it is difficult one, one has to develop self control.
