The high cost of internet access

I have been having trouble lately getting online. Internet access is so expensive and in a lot of areas where I live some plans are not even offered. To make matters worse I have had to move again and the place I have found is even harder to get internet and the rent is higher. So, I haven't been here hardly at all and it looks like my participation will be even sketchier for the foreseeable future. At least this move has put me in a place of my own instead of living with relatives and never knowing how long that will last. I still have my smart phone though so I will try to join in on it when I have data. I sure do miss being able to come here whenever I want.

I'm sorry. I only have internet through my phone's mobile hot spot. When my data runs out it's very slow.

Yeah, that's what I'm using now. I get 3 gigs of data with my phone plan but using it to run my laptop eats it up in a hurry.

@LovingMyBabies That just goes to show that when you think your problems couldn't be worse you hear someone else has it worse than you. Out internet isn't quite that high but it's close. The internet I had before I moved cost 84.00.

@savak03 Yeah I know it does, mine is the same way. I can't afford internet either, it's $120 per month which is way too much for us!

Thank you, I am enjoying the privacy. Not having to share a bathroom with kids is my definition of heaven. At first I was able to use the landlords wifi but his modem went bad and he had to get a new one but it isn't pushing the signal far enough to reach me.

Getting 2 GB for a month is about INR 300 ($5). That really pinches my frugal pocket.

That is frustrating. I usually use MyLot only with the data or wifi on my phone. Is wifi available in a lot of places around you?

Well there is a library near and of course a lot of the fast food places offer it. But it is difficult for me to get up and about like I used to. I have to budget my energy and the gas in my car.

Thanks, I need a break. I can make some extra money doing a few mystery shops but to do that I need the internet on a reliable basis. Doing mystery shops requires a balance to keep from spending more than you can make.
