Said Mama Deer, "This Corn Taught Me Something,"
...And what, pretty lady deer, did it teach you?
"Those little yellow pills in that pail are NOT birth control pills. That's what it taught me."
Sure enough, I was put onto "Kitchen Police" - (KP) duty - after supper tonight. As I stood there with the kitchen window right in front of the kitchen sink, there they came. This time, some mama deer and three little fawn-baby deer.
I managed to dry my soapy wet hands quickly enough to pull the camera out of its pocket and snap several pix of the pretty critters - two more fawn deer showing now than were being taught the other day about how good corn can taste . Three of the little ones in all.
Just then, the big boxer dog spotted our dinner guests and ran, barking and carrying on, at all of them, chasing the deer and fawns back into the forest trees way too fast for this old man and his camera to make even one more picture.
Another lesson. Scared deer are much faster than a barking dog - even when the hound is on the other side of a strong fence.

@JamesHxstatic - Howdy Brother James - Dishpan hands seem to be the least amount I am asked to pay in return for some truly great meals. You, too?
It is great good fun to be able to watch those beautiful deer and their fawns while on KP. Our world is a good place if we let it be so.

@Hatley-Ms Patsie - Those deer DO love their deer corn. We get it by the 50-pound bag at the tractor supply store. That, too is where we get those super-size deer-lick blocks. The photo was made through a kitchen window that was a bit dirtied from the storm we had the other day. Hope you had a fun day. -Gus-

We have these visitors too and really enjoy them. The dogs here are not so happy when they appear, but the deer still come.

@PatZAnthony - Ms Pat - They DO return, don't they? But, man alive, those deer sure can run and jump when the hound shows up. -Gus-

@responsiveme - Totally correct on all you said. Fear often causes the need to dry off prior to sitting down again... -Gus-
