Lying Or Acting To Impress Someone

I just spent some quality time with my son by reading a book with him. The book was about a girl at a new school who eagered to impress her classmates by lying about her father's job... and she got caught. Since reading the book I start to wonder about myself. I know for sure that I had acted to impress someone, but I can't recall if I had ever lied to impress anyone. What about you? Have you ever lied, or acted, to impress some one?

I don't know if I have ever done that, but I know the person I am today does not do that. If someone does not like me the way I am, they don't have to bother with me.

@Elisa1234 I don't really lie at all... if I don't want to answer something then I will refuse to give an answer... If I have to lie, it might be, say I want to stop talking on the phone with someone (as it's too long) then I might say I'm busy... or I lie just for a good laugh, like people say ''pulling your leg''. Have you heard of the term?
