Day 289
Proverbs 28:1
Proverbs 28:1 The wicked flee when no man pursues: but the righteous are bold as a lion.
People who don’t want to be caught are forever looking over their shoulder. They know they are in the wrong, but refuse to admit it. However, those who have nothing to worry about, have nothing to fear from anyone.
Solomon lived at a time when nations were constantly at war with one another. At the time he reigned in Israel, they were in a time of peace, yet wars still took place around them, and with war there were also those who were in constant flight from enemies and friends alike.
Jesus lived at the time of the Roman Empire. Roman crosses were a constant reminder that nobody could be trusted. Yet Jesus’ message was one of peace not war, to love your enemies, not hate them.
Jesus’ life was lived in the open. He had many enemies in the leadership of his day, yet because he was righteous, he did not hide or flee from anyone.
As Christians, you know you will be pursued by those who hate your message. Yet because you have nothing to fear, you can be bold in your witness for Jesus Christ.
Jesus said the truth would set you free.
John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. (KJV)
The truth found in God’s Word will set you free from any chain Satan devises against you. You have no reason to hide or flee from anyone.
Let’s pray: Father, help me live my life without fear, and be bold in my witness for you. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.

Kandase, I often ask myself that, too...especially when they are Christians. I also don't understand why people trust what others say about you or about what you said instead of asking you so you can at least defend yourself.

I believe that is true when speaking about the message of Jesus Christ. Now, I would like to know how it pertains to when we trust other Christians with things that have happened in our lives and maybe about a certain of another person. We thought we had that person's trust to keep it to him or herself. Then that person turns against you and tells other people who think you are lying...and they turn against you. All of the people included are Christians. I don't trust many people anymore.

It's a very sad situation. One thing you must do, me too, is learn to pray for the discernment of the Holy Spirit to lead us to those we can trust. I don't trust many people either. I certainly had it hit me full in the face with a situation I faced not too long ago. However, God is faithful and will never let you down. You can trust him especially when people turn on you.

@MsBooklover I agree. I've moved on from many so-called friendships.

@just4him I know you are right. I have learned the hard way with people. God does expect us to forgive, but I also think that if someone is not going to do things in a Christ-like way, He does not expect us to continue to have a relationship with him or her. The best way is to move on, and trust Him.
