Summer's here and it's time to splash around in the water. In honor, here's another one of the songs from my list of favorites that have the word "water" in the title. Per @JohnRoberts 's request earlier in the countdown (and I'm sure everyone else saw this song coming, too), here's today's song.
#6: Black Water - Doobie Brothers
Oh, how do you leave this song off a list of "water" songs?
The Doobie Brothers had two #1 songs in their career, and those two really show the two different Doobie Brothers eras. One was 1979's "What a Fool Believes," which was the Michael McDoobie era. The other #1 song was this gem, from 1975.
This song has just about everything in it that you could want: a little country (the fiddle), a little soul, a little rock and roll, and one of the best sing-along a cappella parts you're ever going to hear come roaring out of the 70s.
I've mentioned before that I'm more of a Doobies fan from that era, before they became McDonald's backing band. But it doesn't matter. This isn't just a Doobie Brothers classic, it's a classic of the 1970s.

Definitely an obvious choice, but I was still rooting for it.

As I said, I'm being pretty obvious today, aren't I?
