Day 292
Proverbs 28:4
Proverbs 28:4 They that forsake the law praise the wicked: but such as keep the law contend with them.
5 Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all things.
6 Better is the poor that walks in his uprightness, than he that is perverse in his ways, though he be rich.
7 Whoso keeps the law is a wise son: but he that is a companion of riotous men shames his father.
The Law of God as stated in the Torah contains 613 laws the Jewish people needed to know and the consequences for breaking those laws. In the US, there is an untold number of laws, as new laws are continually created by our lawmakers. New laws mean new crimes. The old laws are not done away with, they are just added to, so that no one knows what crimes they are committing with all the laws created since the founding of our country. Every country is the same with their judicial system. There are laws for every aspect of life.
Solomon had the Torah, the only law that mattered. It was God’s law they sought when it came to knowing what was wicked and what wasn’t. It was God’s law they sought when determining the punishment for crimes against God’s law. It was also God’s law that gave hope to God’s people, so that when they walked according to God’s law, they understood how much God loved them and keeping the law brought wisdom and not destruction.
Because it is impossible to know how many laws there are on our books, it is impossible not to break them. That makes everyone a lawbreaker.
As Christians, you know you are a sinner and condemned to death. You know that if you break just one of God’s laws, you are guilty of violating the whole law.
James 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. (KJV)
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; (KJV)
Yet there is hope for every person who has accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord.
Romans 5:8 But God commends his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (KJV)
God’s gift to you and me, is eternal life if we accept the finished work of Jesus, God’s Son, on the cross for our salvation. Jesus paid for your sin and mine with his blood. He went to Hell for you and me so you wouldn’t need to face an eternity away from God, but could live in his presence glorifying and praising him for all he did for you.
There will always be wicked people in the world, and more of us become wicked every day with the new laws created by our lawmakers, but we do not need to live in wickedness. We can embrace the law of God and his love for us and live in wisdom and righteousness.
Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. (KJV)
Let’s pray: Father, give me wisdom as I walk in your law, the law that gives me life. Let my life glorify you and give you praise because Jesus has set me free through his blood and given me hope in his salvation. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.

We must keep our eyes on the laws of God. Amen Valerie, for all this earth will pass away.

@TiarasOceanView Yes it does, but many people don't realize it as they think Jesus fulfilled the entire law and we are under grace. Jesus fulfilled the law of the sacrifice. We still need to obey the commandments and other laws found in God's law.
