I am busy nowadays with my DIY projects. One of the projects being to prepare a Table Mate I have been searching for a table bracket and some hinges. A table mate is a small desk made which is very convenient for reading and working on a laptop Though I can prepare it without any bracket I want to make it very simple and nice appearance. So, the need for folding bracket was felt. I searched and inquired in many shops of Hyderabad and spent almost a day. Somebody has suggested me to inquire in Goshamahal as there are many hardware shops. I was aware that there are many furniture shops but could not give a thought to it. I was on my own search inquiring in each and every shop of Secunderabad which is actually known for such material and accessories and it was my own view that it should be available there only. But, I failed to get it. Yeah...I remembered that some person in Secunderabad shop suggested me the place GOSHAMAHA, but I have not paid attention to him as I was always under the wrong notion that it is only Secunderabad which is known for hardware shops. Just, yesterday I again approached a shop in Secunderabad after seeing some figures on the name board. The brackets were shown in the diagram. I asked for Folding Bracket. Yes...I was right. But, the sales boy again asked me if I was asking about table bracket. I could guess what he was pointing at. I said yes and he went inside and brought the folding bracket. I immediately purchased them without any further bargaining. It was a very big shop and the product I purchased was an excellent piece. I am impressed. I could get it. But, today when I casually went to GOSHA MAHAL I found them in each and every shop in different sizes and brands. I really felt sorry for my adamant nature for not hearing to the advice tendered by the shopkeeper Secunderabad though I could get one there. Now I realized that it will be available only in the furniture hardware shops but not in each and every hardware shop. The lesson I had is that before starting a search one should think what is the type of product we are searching for, viz,., whether it is a wooden part, iron part, hardware part, or software part etc., and then identify the area where such shops are more in a number We should also know what that particular item is called generally in shops. Some people were calling it table brackets and some people knew them by Folding brackets. When I asked for DETENT HINGES in the shops they put blank faces though they were having the product and was visible right in front of them.They were calling them Hydraulic hinges or General hinges.When I asked for invisible hinges they said NO as they were calling them with some different name. They do not know the names of the product properly and calling them with their own knowledge or in the language of a Carpenter. THIS IS REALLY A GOOD LESSON FOR ME.
