I do not like Donald Trump. One reason is because he is against immigration. I like the fact that the United States has been inclusive of people from all around the world. I love diversity and the saying that the U.S. is a melting pot. Without those things we will not be the same country. I believe this as someone who was born and raised in this country. My mom was too. But my dad was born in Haiti and came here when he was was about 20. I would not have been born here if that did not happen. I love my country and it is imperfect and has problems that need fixing. But immigration is not one of them. Everyone deserves a chance to make a better life for themselves and to be with their families. What do others think?

I don't think he's against immigration. He's against ILLEGAL immigration, or people coming here without obeying the laws of immigration of the country. To give you a comparison, I read an article about what it takes to move to Canada, and how it's not just "show up and you're accepted." In fact, one of the interesting things is that you can't apply for a job in Canada and be automatically accepted because Canadian unemployment is high, and the Canadian government would expect a Canadian company to hire Canadians first. But that's okay? Yes, it is. It's okay for all countries to be considerate of their own residents first and to establish laws for immigration. All countries do it.

That makes sense and I can understand that.

Immigration was certainly important when it came to populating our country in the early days, and people have continued to seek out a better way of life here than they had in their own country. For my entire life the doors have been closed to immigration because our population has grown so much there isn't room for a large number of immigrants. Our president is not to blame for the situation.

I can understand that and government systems are complex plus overpopulation is definitely an issue. There is no easy solution to these problems.
