I just recently became acquainted with Label bags. I had heard of them before, but finally asked in one of the Facebook pen pal groups that I belong to what exactly they were/how they worked. Label bags can be made by actually using a small re-closable bag, or some prefer to use tiny envelopes. Like a friendship book, the label bag says who it belongs to/was made for: in this case on a small piece of paper put into the bag so it shows at the front. On the piece of paper are also instructions, such as: Please add 3 labels. Remove one of each, and make either another label bag or a friendship book for that person. No. 5 please return to: (person it was made for). I have seen bags where the instructions are not to remove any labels, or to put in/take out a different number of each. On the back of the paper with the instructions on it, the people who receive it write the number and their name. If the first person was me, I would write 1) Stacey. Then the next person who received it would write 2)Xxxx, and so on until #5, who would then follow whatever instructions happened to be with that bag and then send it back to the person it was made for. The "labels" put into these bags can be regular address labels, but what I see mostly (and what I have done myself) is labels that people make on Word or some program like that with their address and maybe a bit of info about them (favorite hobbies, etc). These are done in a fairly small font/small lettering--like size 8 or 10 so that the paper to be put into the bag doesn't turn out huge. I personally don't have a preference for what kind I get--though I read recently someone saying they only wanted to get the kind that came in paper "bags" rather than the resealable plastic kind.
