How to discipline a child with autism

July 1, 2017 7:16pm CST
I have a 5 yr old son, diagnosed as slightly autistic. He's super smart, and social, it's mostly a behavioral thing, and acting out, tantrums, trouble with change/transitions...He's starting to get more "violent" with me. Hitting, and threatening when angry because I tell him No. I don't really believe in hitting a child and especially with autism, that won't really teach him. What are some good disciplinary techniques to use for a child with autism, that can't really be disciplined or scolded the way a normal child would be disciplined.

Each child is different so it is very hard to give you any guidance here. Have you been to the website and check it out? I did a course last year but I can't remember clearly...but I am happy to search for it and get back to you..

@HAPPSINGH Yes, but then I am not confident in giving people advice, as children are different. But all of them need will be love and patience, but firm, and they don't like change...

I had read that a child with ADHD should eat less sweet. They will become hyperactive if eaten some sweets.
