Oh, the humidity. I could use some water, but for now I'll just go with the next song on my list of favorite songs that have the word "water" in the title. Spoiler: the top two are no surprise whatsoever. You don't have to think very had to realize what #1 is, given that this song is #2. And oh, what a classic we have for number two. #2: Cool Water - Sons of the Pioneers Thanks to the induction of the original Sons of the Pioneers into the Country Music Hall of Fame, Roy Rogers stands as the only person in the Country Music Hall of Fame twice (he's also in as a solo artist). Yes, Roy Rogers was an original member of the Sons of the Pioneers. And if you listen to the Sons of the Pioneers you'll almost immediately hear the difference between western and country music. This is one of those songs you've at least heard of, if not actually heard. It's one of the great standards in American music (never mind just "country" music). The harmonies are fabulous. The song is fabulous. Everything about it is fabulous. Cool Water Written by Bob Nolan Recorded by the Sons of the Pioneers Released as a single, 1941 Re-recorded numerous times With the dawn I'll wake and yawn:
Written in the 30s by Bob Nolan. Released in 1941 as a B-side to "So Long to the Red River Valley"

I like my water spiked with Gatorade did you think I would say Moonshine? That too, but felt this was a family post. Love this old time country.

Is it possible for a classic song to be beyond legendary?
