Well, They're Up!

Our new window treatments are finally installed. Each window has its own pleated shade to protect our newly furnished family room from the sun, except for the fan light windows and skylights. If those fade the fabrics, my husband said that we will redo the fabrics. By then, we may have to. They even threw in a pole to lower and raise the shades for those higher-than-I can reach windows.
Wednesday our area rug arrives and will be installed. I'm very excited about that. We only need two different height and shaped lamps, which have been difficult to find, and that room will be done!
Soon, friends are arriving for drinks and nibbles, then off we will go for a late luncheon on the shore.
Hope your July is as much fun as ours has been so far.

I love your new family room! The color are awesome and I like the light color hardwood floor. Plus its minimal, my favorite way to look at a room.
If I may make a suggestion, if the sun continues to bleach out your fabric you can buy window treatments with the solar block out fabric on the back, I know some ladies make their own for the Easy/ West windows They are a little more expensive to buy but worth it in the long run. I have them on one side of my house.

Thank you! The floors are over sized porcelain tiles. Thanks for your suggestions. The shades and curtain lining is sunproof. We definitely can get the skylights tinted. The sun does seem to move quickly over the one that faces south. We shall see!

A lovely cozy and cheery room to relax in Dianne.
So glad that is done now the window treatments.
Rug will be nice also. Hope you also find the lamps you want.
I love the pink chandelier and the chaise lounge.
Have fun then for drinks and nibbles and lunch on the shore...so nice

@DianneN I wish it was hot on this side of the world. We are having autumn weather in the summer with temps in the 60s F and have to heat at night.

Beautiful room Dianne. I love a sunny room. The last two places I have lived lacked for sunlight. We are in a wooded area. It makes it nice in the evening hours and late afternoon, but I like for the sun to brighten the place up.

Good these things still add a spring in your step. I have been there and done that but somehow my priorities have now shifted.
That is a romantic nook you have and I like that window. I too have the ventilator just like yours in an arc style

@allknowing She is so spoiled, but then again, so is Doodles. We let him in the new room even though his claws got stuck a few times in the sofa fabric. Ouch!
