Day 298
Proverbs 28:13
Proverbs 28:13 He that covers his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesses and forsakes them shall have mercy.
Have you ever felt like nothing was going right? No matter what you did, it didn’t work out.
Joshua felt like that at the Battle of Ai. Israel had just come from a great victory over Jericho, and then they lost the Battle of Ai. What had happened? Why had God forsaken them?
Solomon said that man’s ways lead to death, but God’s ways lead to life.
Proverbs 14:12 There is a way which seems right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
God told Joshua there was sin in the camp, and he needed to get rid of the sin to have victory in the battle.
Joshua 7:10 And the LORD said unto Joshua, Get thee up; wherefore lie thou thus upon thy face?
11 Israel hath sinned, and they have also transgressed my covenant which I commanded them: for they have even taken of the accursed thing, and have also stolen, and dissembled also, and they have put it even among their own stuff.
12 Therefore the children of Israel could not stand before their enemies, but turned their backs before their enemies, because they were accursed: neither will I be with you any more, except ye destroy the accursed from among you.
God told Joshua he had to get rid of the sin in the camp and then God would go before them in battle and defeat their enemies.
As Christians, you cannot have one foot in the world, doing whatever you want, and expect God to bless you in everything you do. Instead, you need to confess whatever sin you have in your life, and ask God what he would have you do and then God will bless the work of your hands.
Ask God where the problem is in your life. Not everything you do looks like sin, but when you go ahead of God, presuming you know what you are supposed to do, you sin. Remember Satan disguises even your good intentions, causing you to sin unknowingly. Go before God, seek his face and his counsel and he will show you where you erred. Confess your sin and God will then bless the work of your hands.
Let’s pray: Father, help me seek your face to know what you want me to do. Do not let me get ahead of you, presuming I know what you want me to do. Help me see Satan’s schemes dressed up as your will, and confess my sin when I go ahead of you. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.

There are times we have made mistakes in the past, and we ask Him to forgive us. I know He does. It is important to learn from it.

Amen Valerie.
It is amazing what happens in our life when we acknowledge this.
