Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim outfielder Mike Trout will not be playing in the 2017 Major League All Star Game that will be played In Miami Florida on July 11, 2017 due to a thumb injury that has sidelined him since last May. Boston Red Sox outfielder Mookie Betts who received the most votes by the fans for a reserve player will replace Trout on the American League roster. Fans voted for Trout to be a starter for the American League but due to his thumb injury that has kept him out of the starting lineup, he will not be able to play in the Major League Baseball All Star Game. The good news is that Trout is expected to return to the Angels roster at the start of the second half of the 2017 baseball season.

A thumb injury is very painful to deal with.

The Angels are missing him terribly. I'm hoping he's back and better than ever. He's a great player.

Why rush him back just to play in the All Star Game if he is hurt?
