Many abhore consuming it simply because your mouths and urine exude a strong and unpleasant odor after you have eaten it. Despite the unpleasant odor most people hate, there are a number of health benefit you can derive from this stink bean.
A number of sources in the internet state that many diseases can be cured. A person in Indonesia has conducted a research for 15 years and published ebooks regaring the benefit of stink bean. Not only does the flesh of the bean cure you of any disease but its skin when boiled for several minutes gives you health benefit. Is it worth trying? It's your choice.

Looking at the picture it looks familiar to me.
I think we call this ipil-ipil here in our place.
I know some people do it this bean for health reasons but I haven't tried.
I will check on this stink bean and see if this is the same stuff that I have in mind.
